🔍 Introduction
Many users struggle to view or add their Prama STQC IP cameras to DVR/NVRs or mobile apps — especially when the camera doesn’t show the “Platform Access” option. If your camera doesn’t support P2P/Cloud access, don’t worry. You can still activate, configure, and stream it easily using the ODDT Desktop Tool and ONVIF method. This guide explains every step clearly.
⚙️ Step 1 – Install the ODDT Desktop Tool
Instead of using the Hikvision's SADP Tool, you need the ODDT Desktop Software on your Windows PC. This is Prama’s latest configuration utility that helps you activate and manage cameras efficiently.
Alternatively, you can get the software by contacting Prama Technical Support via TeamViewer (techsupport@pramaindia.in).
🔐 Step 2 – Activate the Camera
After installation:
- Launch ODDT Tool.
- The camera will appear in the list.
- Enter a strong password to activate the device. (Activation is mandatory before any configuration.)
🌐 Step 3 – Enable DHCP and Modify Network Parameters
Once activated:
- Select the camera in ODDT Tool.
- Enable DHCP so that the camera automatically gets an IP address from your network.
- Enter the camera password to apply changes.
This ensures your camera is accessible from any device in the same LAN.
💻 Step 4 – Login via IP Address
Open your browser and type the camera’s IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.64).
Log in using the username and password you created during activation.
🔄 Step 5 – Check NVR Firmware (New Update)
Hikvision NVRs now have updated firmware that natively supports Prama STQC Cameras. You do not need to update the camera firmware if your NVR is running the latest version. Ensure your Hikvision NVR is updated.
If you still face issues with older NVRs, you can contact Prama Support for assistance:

🔧 Step 6 – Enable ONVIF and Add ONVIF User
In the web interface:
- Go to Network → Advanced Settings → ONVIF.
- Enable ONVIF.
- Add a new user with the same password used in your DVR/NVR.
⚠️ Note: The ONVIF username should not be “admin.”
Example:onvif_user - 👉 After adding the ONVIF user, go to Maintenance & Security → Security → Login Management → Disable Illegal Login Lock. This setting is crucial to prevent the camera from locking out the NVR due to connection attempts.
This user will be used to connect your camera to the NVR.
📹 Step 7 – Add Camera to DVR/NVR
Now open your DVR/NVR interface and add the camera manually using:
- IP Address
- ONVIF Username
- Password
Your NVR will now detect and display live video from the camera.
⚡ Step 8 – For Latest NVR Models
Some new-generation Prama NVRs can automatically stream without the necessary of upgrading firmware & its related configurations. If your NVR supports auto-search or plug-and-play, you may skip the previous step(Upgrade Firmware).
🚫 Step 9 – No Platform Access Option
If you don’t see Platform Access in your camera’s network menu, that’s normal. It means your camera does not support P2P/Cloud streaming through the Prama Online app — but it still works perfectly through ONVIF and NVR integration.
📱 Step 10 – Stream Camera on Mobile via ONVIF
To view your camera feed directly (without DVR):
- Install the ONVIER mobile app from Play Store.
- Add your camera using:
- IP address
- ONVIF port
- The ONVIF username & password (created in Step 6)
🟢 Do not use the camera’s admin username/password — only the ONVIF credentials will work.
